Baroque orchestra concert: An emperor of song
Pasticcio for the 350th birthday of Reinhard Keiser with vocal soloists, baroque dance and baroque orchestra of the HfK Bremen under the direction of Prof. Mechthild Karkow
The important baroque composer Reinhard Keiser (1674-1739) left behind an extensive oeuvre of sacred and secular works: passions, oratorios, psalm settings and cantatas, special serenatas as festive music and, above all, numerous magnificent opera compositions. The "Hamburg Opera at Gänsemarkt", Germany's first standing opera stage, was significantly influenced by Keiser for decades as its main composer and at times even tenant.
On the occasion of this year's 350th anniversary of his birth, a pasticcio will present multi-layered impressions of his compositional work. Ingratiating and furious passages, a fine feeling for the use of language and a cornucopia of special instrumentation. Let yourself be surprised!
Admission is free.
