THE C.A.T.E. LUNCH TALK SERIES No.12 / Elena Grimbs
by Tania Prill & Andrea Rauschenbusch
Seg. 4 / EG
Strangers everywhere, locals nowhere?
The 60th Biennale di Venezia—now water under the bridge?
Elena Grimbs (she/her) got a taste of the art world (and plenty of Spritz) as an art mediator at the 60th International Art Exhibition Stranieri Ovunque- Strangers Everywhere in Venice. Between seagulls, tourists, yachts and antifascist associations she encountered a microclima that ain’t just water under the bridge. In the lunch talk she asks what legacies and challenges remain after Adriano Pedrosa’s show?
Warm invitations to everyone who has (not) been to the biennale. Bring your coffees—Cicchetti subject to availability.
Elena is an art mediator, curator, and socially engaged artistic researcher currently involved in the Master program Cultures of the Curatorial at HGB Leipzig. She is enthusiastic about accessibility, storytelling and questions of positionalities. Together with the collective Klasse Klima (University of Fine Arts Berlin) she is developing the pilot project Studium Planetare to integrate applied climate education into arts and design academies.
