The Open Space Domshof is entering its sixth round and the HfK Bremen is once again supporting the event series. Senator for Economic Affairs Kristina Vogt (Die Linke) will open the summer full of music, enjoyment and dance on May 31, 7:30 p.m., with HfK Rector Prof. Dr. Mirjam Boggasch and Hans Peter Schneider (Managing Director of the M3B GmbH). Until the end of August, students from the Faculty of Music, among others, will perform in the cozy open-air atmosphere. The highlight will be the performance of the HfK Symphony Orchestra, which will play Dmitri Shostakovich's "Hamlet Suite" on June 9, 2024, probably from 5:30 pm.

Various jazz and classical concerts are also scheduled - for example, the jazz trio Magnus Bodzin (bass) / Marcus Demel (piano) / Frederik Palupski (drums) will perform on June 20, starting at 5:30 pm, and the HfK Classical Sextet will interpret works by Arnold Schönberg and Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy on June 29, 8 pm. In addition, students of the HfK Bremen will present their collections at a fashion show on July 13.

Two HfK alumni of the Integrated Design course - Malte Sonnenschein, now deputy head of the HfK building administration, and Lucas Schmidt, now deputy head of the HfK model making workshop - also designed new ways for the Open Space to deal with public space. Based on the basic shape of the Neptune Fountain, they created eight objects made of untreated spruce wood, which are arranged to form a seating landscape. For the unusual visual design experience, the designers refer to the lined look of the stage and the wine pavilion.

As every year, the Open Space program is aimed at art and culture enthusiasts, music lovers and dance fans of all ages. A multi-faceted stage program, dancing, sing-along events, tastings with regional food and drinks, club and after-work evenings are designed to turn the Domshof into a lively meeting place. The concerts on the open-space stage range from classical music and jazz to Latin American music, singer-songwriters, world music, rap and hip-hop. The market concerts also take place again and accompany the weekly market on Saturdays. Every second Friday there are DJ club evenings - this year alternating weekly with concerts.

The programme can be found here (German).
