Baroque Cello

The degree programme Baroque Cello at the HfK Bremen offers many projects and a wide range of opportunities for ensemble playing in a traditional Early Music department. The teachers are internationally renowned and there is an atmosphere of open-mindedness and mutual support. Another advantage are the good facilities with a number of rental instruments (including three baroque cellos, baroque and classical bows) and a library with a focus on early music. There is a developed environment with a lot of tradition and affinity for early music as well as job opportunities in this area. In Baroque cello lessons, solo literature is just as important as ensemble playing, especially continuo practice. For these reasons we closely collaborate with other classes and we also provide many chamber music lessons. Clear ideas about the upcoming objectives, work steps and assistance are conveyed in a friendly atmosphere.
