Vita
I am a Media Artist and Educator with an interdisciplinary design background, technological interest, and cultural empathy. My creative practice engages with digital technologies in two different ways: On the one hand, it investigates the implications of a transforming, digitalized, and globalized world through critical research and reflection, while on the other hand, it uses the possibilities of Digital Media as a new way of playful, artistic expression.
Currently, I am working as a co-founding member of the Studio for Audio-Visual Art Xenorama, as a Digital Trainer at the Digital Impact Lab of M2C Institute, and as an independent Media Artist. Additionally, I hold a teaching position for „Audio-Visual Articulation“ at the Digital Media program at University of the Arts Bremen and frequently give lectures and workshops at various occasions.
My works have been shown, among others, at ZKM Karlsruhe, the National Art Center Tokyo, the Museum of Moving Images New York, ISEA2018 in Durban, South Africa, Ars Electronica Linz, CCCB Barcelona, Techkriti Festival in India, and the European Media Art Festival. Projects in which I have been involved have won several national and international awards, including the New Face Award at the Japan Media Art Festival (twice), the Innovation by Design Award New York, the Annual Multimedia Award Germany, and the ADC Gold Award. Also, I have been actively involved in various discourses, e.g. as Juror at GOLDSTÜCKE Light Art Festival Gelsenkirchen or Video Mapping Festival Lille, or as Co-Moderator of IBSIC (Image Beyond the Screen International Conference).
I pursued an MA in Digital Media and a BA in Integrated Design at the University of the Arts Bremen, complemented by studies in Interaction Design at IUAV Venice and internships at various media art and design studios. Between these experiences, I served as the Multimedia Centre Coordinator at the BAT Centre in Durban, South Africa. Additionally, I co-initiated MEET YOUR NEIGHBOURS, a platform fostering intercultural exchange with refugees, which I later coordinated through a lectureship at the University of the Arts Bremen.
