Research Promotion Unit

The Department for the Promotion of Research and Young Talent advises, accompanies and supports faculty, artistic and scientific staff as well as students in all areas of the funding of artistic and/or scientific project plans and research projects: from individual research into a funding format suitable for the project to the coordination of funded projects. International and specifically EU-related funding programs as well as national funding programs from the federal and state governments as well as tenders from relevant funding institutions and foundations are taken into account. Information on the central funds of the University of the Arts Bremen is also available.

Overview – the services offered by the Department includes:

  • conceptual and strategic support in the development of project ideas and applications
  • formal examination of documents according to funding criteria and support during the application process
  • Advice on the coordination and structural implementation of funded projects (project management)
  • Advice and support for cooperation developments and transfer projects

Localising a project is helpful both for initial orientation and for detailed advice: Within the realm of artistic and/or scientific funding, project funding differs from individual funding. Project funding either specifies a concrete, subject-specific topic or enables the endowment and thus the implementation of a research project in any subject. In addition, you can apply for funding to develop your own artistic and/or scientific career. Following this, the Department for the Promotion of Research and Young Talent offers information and advice on general financing of studies and doctorates, the binational Artistic PhD program of the University of the Arts Bremen as well as numerous grants and fellowships, competitions and prizes.

Overview – general structuring of funding opportunities by area:

  • projects in research and development
  • formats for teaching and studies

  • start-ups created from work inside the University

  • mobility, travel and shipping
