Atelier Neue Musik
Founded in 1994 by Prof. Younghi Pagh-Paan and directed by Prof. Jörg Birkenkötter since 2011, the Atelier Neue Musik (ANM) sees itself as an interdisciplinary workshop for contemporary music and, over the years, has become a centre for numerous activities that reach a broad public in Bremen and beyond.
In the regular workshop concerts, the ensembleANM (director: René Gulikers) presents new works by young composers from the university. The compositions created in the Studio for Electroacoustic Music at the HfK Bremen (director: Prof Kilian Schwoon) are also presented to the public in the ‘Electroacoustic Concert’ series.
The ANM also regularly invites renowned composers and performers to give concerts and workshops at the HfK and organises excursions to important new music festivals.
It is a co-operation partner of numerous projects in the field of New Music and thus opens up important horizons for students beyond their own university.
