Lecture Series Fine Arts – Steffen Zillig
Aesthetics of the antisocial
About the ambivalent relationship between the game of autonomy and the reality of the underclass – and the creeping displacement of both from contemporary art.
Steffen Zillig invents connections. Exhibitions in which he takes part have titles such as "Nie wieder Gegenwart" (Kunstverein Langenhagen), “Against Community” (Briefing Room, Brussels), "Die Zukunft der SPD" (Kunstverein Nürnberg – Albrecht Dürer Gesellschaft), "Meine Verzweiflung reicht noch nicht out" (8. Salon, Hamburg) or "Kreativität abrüsten" (Galerie BRD, Hamburg).
He was a co-founder of the Donnerstag Blog, an editor at the art magazine art and published in various magazines and internet media. He now publishes the artist magazine Intercity – Zeitschrift für Föderalismus und Polyamorie – in memory of his previous favorite pseudonym: Annika Bender.
