Lindokhule Khumalo from Durban South Africa is currently a scholarship holder of the Bremischen Bürgerschaft and the Bremer Heimstiftung. Born in 1995 in Ndwedwe, KwaZulu-Natal, the artist discovered his passion for art at an early age. After graduating from Ubuhlebesizwe Secondary School, he studied at the BAT Center in Durban.

In 2015 Khumalo began his artistic journey and in 2016 he immersed himself in textile printing at the Rorkes Drift Craft Center under the guidance of Swedish artist Marlin Sellmen. He continued his training in the Velobala development program and created impressive murals for the eThekwini community in 2017. Participation in the "Ikhono LaseNatali" project by visual activist Zanele Muholi broadened his horizons.

Lindo Khumalo is primarily concerned with depictions of people, reflecting on South Africa's traumatic history.

The classes Katrin von Maltzahn and Kati Barath invite you to the Studio Talk.

The lecture will take place in front of the screen printing workshop (3.15.070).
