Winners' concert: University Prize for Music
Concert with this year's winners of the University Prize for Music:
1st prize / Duo
Francisco Henriques (baritone), class of Prof. Thomas Mohr
Gretel Jazeron (piano), class of Martin von der Heydt
Jury statement: The charismatic duo with Francisco Henriques, baritone, and Gretel Jazeron, piano, captivated the audience with their emotional performances. Francisco's wonderful voice and expression thrilled us in both the French and German repertoire. Gretel was an equal partner to him.
2nd prize / solo with accompaniment
Elena Tsantidis (soprano), class of Prof. Benno Schachtner
Accompanied on the harpsichord by Mimoe Todo
Jury statement: Elena's beautiful voice has a bell-like high register, is expressive and touching. She shows great variability in her performance, which covered all epochs.
3rd prize / solo
Kun Tan (percussion), class of Prof. Olaf Tzschoppe
Jury statement: Kun is a pure bundle of energy and delivered a firework of precision and musical interpretation of the works, whereby he was particularly convincing in Xenakis' hellishly heavy Rebonds.
