Professor Florian Poser

Prof. Florian Poser passed away on July 19, 2024 at the age of 70. 

Florian Poser began his career at the University of the Arts Bremen in 1994 as a substitute professor of popular music and then became professor of popular music/jazz vibraphone in the Faculty of Music. 

Even after his retirement at the beginning of 2024, he remained associated with the HfK as an assistant lecturer. With him, we are losing an outstanding musical personality and a top-class vibraphonist. As a lecturer and colleague, his professional discourse was always empathetic and approachable. The promotion of young talent and joint concerts were very important to him. He was an important mentor and committed advocate for his students and always took the time to listen to their concerns.

We are saddened by the death of our long-standing and valued colleague. We will honor his memory and offer our sincere condolences to his family.
