- Performance - Portfoliokurs "to perform“, verb: 1. present; to showcase something; to give a performance 2. to develop in terms of value 3. to deliver results, act successfully; to prove oneself In this course we will explore the concept of "performance". We will examine how society's drive for "achievement" – whether in the production of art, the pursuit of professional success, or the development of a personal image – influences our creative work. We will ask what factors such as expectations, self-criticism, and competitive pressure play a role in these processes. Is the pressure to perform a motivating force or a hindrance? Can we escape this pressure or is it an unavoidable part of our time? Together we will take the opportunity to exchange ideas and work on our own portfolios. We will discuss essential questions related to the development of your portfolio: What is the purpose of the application, who is the intended audience, and what forms of presentation and scope are appropriate? We will critically examine our own artistic work and positions, discuss the selection and presentation of projects, and identify personal focuses. The first step is to become aware of our own resources, motivations and skills in order to formulate individual goals. The focus may be on specific application projects such as finding a job or internship, applying for a master's program, applying for a scholarship, or preparing for self-employment. Usinperformative exercises, we will explore our artistic practice, shift perspectives, and actively integrate the body into the creative process. By the end of the course, you will have designed an individual portfolio of your work.
