Psychological Counselling and Social Counselling

As a student, you can contact the counselling centre of the Studierendenwerk Bremen (PBS). Since summer 2022, there has been an open consultation hour directly at the HfK (see below for room and current dates).

Psychological Counselling provides help with study-related or personal issues, e.g.: Fear of performance, excessive demands, work difficulties, concentration problems, disorientation and fear of the future, separation and experiences of loss, contact difficulties, partnership problems, family conflicts, depressive moods, clarification of psychotherapy indication and support in finding a therapy place.

The Social Counselling Service advises and informs students on social-legal and financial issues closely related to their student status. It offers help and guidance with questions about student security, finances and information on social law. Family planning, illness or a semester of leave can lead to changes in your previous study status and financing. The social counselling service offers helpful suggestions and supports you in finding individual solutions.

Since August 2023, our on-site counselling service for HfK students will take place at the Speicher XI location. This counselling time is also open to students of Dechanatstraße, Faculty of Music. Outside of these times, individual counselling sessions can be arranged at our counselling centre on the Uni Campus.

Open Consultation Hours without registration from 11:00 to 12:00* in Speicher XI, room 1.10.040 ("Stillraum") currently on the following dates:

* The Open Consultation Hour offers the opportunity for a first contact and information about possible further support. For a comprehensive counselling session, appointments are required and can be made by telephone or in person at our office: +49 421 22011131-0.

At the HfK location, appointments can be made before or after the open consultation hours.

All employees of the Counselling Centre are bound by professional secrecy. The services are free of charge for students at all universities in Bremen. Online counselling is also available. Counselling is available in German and English.
