Piano

The study programme piano foregrounds individual artistic lessons from well-known international lecturers. In addition to the Classical-Romantic core repertoire, both earlyand new music are taught. The HfK Bremen has renowned specialist departments in these two areas, and so experience with historical instruments, for example, but also in collaboration with contemporary composers, can enrich piano studies in a valuable way. The range of courses offered in the bachelor's and master's programmes as well as the concert exam are rounded off by further lessons in chamber music, accompaniment, piano accompaniment and new music. While the basics of playing technique are still the focus of the bachelor's degree, the further course of the training becomes more and more about musical design and interpretation, with the goal of the concert exam being the perfection of the individual performance at the highest level.
