Harpsichord

As a course, Harpsichord covers a repertoire over a period of approximately 250 years: from the late Renaissance to the early Viennese Classical period. The programme provides different forms of the harpsichord, from the virginal to the five-octave two-manual instrument, supplemented by the clavichord and early forms of the fortepiano. Another important aspect is continuo playing, which is integrated into the main subject lessons. While the bachelor's degree focuses on the diversity of relevant stylistic periods in the various European countries, the master's degree focuses on deepening some of these focal points. In this respect, the Master can be designed very individually as a coherent concert programme without any further specifications. Chamber music should have an important role in both the Bachelor and the Master, depending on the future career profile.
