Organ (Early Music)
The guiding element is teaching and practicing on historical organs: the original sound and mechanics are the best teachers when discovering and studying the repertoire. The programme includes organ literature from the late Middle Ages to the early 19th century as well as basso continuo and ensemble music, performed on the appropriate organs and in the correct acoustic context. Lessons are taught alternately on one of the numerous historical organs in the Bremen area: Arp Schnitger organs in Grasberg and Ganderkesee, a Erasmus Bielfeldt organ in Osterholz-Scharmbeck, a Christian Vater organ in Wiefelstede and the reconstructed Gloger organ in Worpswede, the meantone organ in Bremen-Walle and the Ahrend-Brunzema organ in Bremen-Martini. The studies are supplemented by excursions to historical organs in Northern Germany as well as by study trips to deepen the German, Italian
