Saxophone (Jazz)
The HfK Bremen offers studies in Jazz Saxophone, Flute and Doublings in a big band context. The programme is aimed at students who want to prepare for professional careers, further studies or everyday school life in the areas of jazz, pop, rock, fusion, funk, new improvised music and other musical genres. The “Jazz Saxophone, Flute and Doublings” section is taught by renowned in-house teachers as well as international guest lecturers, including Wayne Escoffery, Bob Mintzer, Jerry Bergontzi and Dave Liebman. In addition, all Jazz Saxophone students receive classical training. The programme also offers a variety of opportunities to gain practical experience at concerts, jam sessions and studio productions in the jazz club. State-of-the-art equipment is available including recording technology, first-class saxophones, tubax, clarinets, flutes and excellent rehearsal rooms.
