Trombone (Jazz)
The lessons provide a comprehensive insight into the stylistics, their associated playing styles and the development of the trombone in jazz over the last hundred years: from New Orleans to Free Jazz. This includes special playing techniques (e.g. doodle tonguing), introduction to playing with mutes (e.g. plunger), style analyses of famous jazz trombonists such as Jack Teagarden, Jay Jay Johnson, Curtis Fuller, Frank Rosolino and others, as well as big band repertoire studies and introduction to various harmonic concepts. In this way, foundations are laid for the students to develop their own, personal style.
