The tour through the University of the Arts Bremen

The Hochschultage provide special access to art, design, media and music.

Exhibitions, concerts, performances and lectures give you the opportunity to experience the university and its studios and workshops up close and to get to know studying at the HfK. Visitors can also look forward to the presentation of the newly awarded works of the university prize winners.

This year's theme of the Hochschultage, Point of View, focuses on the perspectives behind the exhibited works. At the same time, it invites visitors to contribute their own points of view. This creates a lively exchange that combines different perspectives.

 

General Student Advisory Services

Are you interested in studying Digital Media, Fine Arts, or Integrated Design? As part of the Hochschultage, we offer dedicated consultation sessions for these study programs. Learn more about course content, application procedures, and study requirements directly from faculty members and students.  

Additionally, the General Study Advisory Service is available as a first point of contact for organizational and general questions about studying.  

Take the opportunity to gather comprehensive information and gain insights into the different fields of study! All study consultations are open to all without prior registration and take place in room 1.11.020. This is followed by short tours of the respective degree programme for prospective students only.

A sale of handcrafted ceramics – from functional pieces to unique artworks, fired at 1200 degrees.

11:00 – 4:00 p.m. The ceramics workshop is open – workshop for everyone (Room 1.16.040 Turning Room, Speicher XI)
An open ceramics workshop inviting everyone to explore working with clay. Whether you're a beginner or experienced, come by to experiment, shape, and create your own ceramic pieces in a hands-on setting.

11:00 – 4:00 p.m. Zine Market @ Hochschultage (Room 4.09.060, Speicher XI)
Current and former HfK students invite you to browse at the Mini Zine Market. Between prints, publications, originals and merchandise, there is a lot to discover.

11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Curtain Call (MS Dauerwelle, Tiefer 2)
The interdisciplinary project brings together students from the fields of fine arts, fashion, music and video. The call for the curtain, the end of the performance, becomes the exhibition moment itself. 

11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Writing workshop “Mit Worten gerettet“ (English: Saved by words) (4.10.010 (Art and Design Branch Library, Speicher XI)
In memory of Adolf Franken and as a tribute to Dorothea Franken's commitment, the exhibition "Floating in the water" with artistic works by Adolf Franken is taking place until 16 February. On 16 February, the German-speaking writing workshop “Saved by words“ is open to anyone interested. Participation in the workshop is free of charge. Please register by email by February 14th to: naumann@kunst-kontext.de

12:00 p.m. Flash & Cash – Experimenting with Riso Printing (Room 1.04.000 (Druckpool), Speicher XI)
An open workshop for designing and printing with the vibrant and eco-friendly colors of the Risograph. Limited to 8 participants.

1:30 p.m. Formerly Known As – Performance (Room 1.15.080 and Corridors, Speicher XI)
Formerly Known As is a collective project by the "Freie Klasse" exploring the act of renaming as a group. Inspired by the flocking behavior of birds, the performance invites participants to move together through the HfK Bremen.

2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.  goarwywaswyt – go and read what you wrote and speak what you think (Room 1.15.090, Speicher XI)
Fine arts project: Inspired by Ahmed Rashid Thani, “goarwywasyt“ began in the winter semester 2024/25 as weekly meetings with poetry readings and writing sessions.

2:00–7:00 p.m. Modular Monday + Fictions, Speculations and Imaginaries (1.07.050 (Radio Angrezi), Speicher XI)
Modular Monday is a performance series featuring sound and music works loosely related to electronic and digital artifacts and concepts. It provides a platform for raw, unfinished, and experimental situations, serving as a semi-public, semi-informal rehearsal space where performers and audiences can share, discuss, and engage in dialogues about common interests and ideas.

This event features a series of performances, each presenting a 5–15 minute set, followed by conversations about the works, techniques, technologies, and concepts presented.

In her bachelor performance, Véra Marie Deubner presents interpretations of historical workers' songs as well as her own compositions with the support of the Schwankhalle choir.

Radio Angrezi
Radio Angrezi will broadcast a special program during the Hochschultage – an experimental space for sound, music, voice, and live performance, created by an autonomous student collective.

• 12:00–13:15 p.m.: The Sound of Water in the (H)AIR
  Alevtina Senik with Bon Kim & Qianxun Chen
  Tune in as radio host Alevtina Senik engages in a conversation with artists Bon Kim and Qianxun Chen about WATER IN THE (H)AIR, a sound installation that transforms humidity into rhythm through human hair. Together, they will explore the work’s meaning, inspirations, and technological intricacies, reflecting on how it reactivates our sensitivity to nature and reimagines the relationship between people, water, and technology. Join us to uncover how listening can become a way of reconnecting with the delicate balance of our environment.
