Financial Aid for Students in Financial Need

Ernst von Siemens Musikstiftung supports Music Students of the HfK Bremen

For numerous students of the University of the Arts Bremen (HfK), part-time jobs, which are an important source of income to finance their studies, have been lost during the Corona Pandemic. They can therefore quickly run into financial distress.

The Ernst von Siemens Musikstiftung is responding to the Corona pandemic and the precarious situation it has created with an aid program for music students at universities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The HfK Bremen is also included in this generous special support. "The donation from the Ernst von Siemens Musikstiftung is a great gift and an important sign that encourages students in the current situation and offers concrete help," says Roland Lambrette, Rector of the HfK Bremen, thanking the Foundation.
The funds will be used to support the social fund of the HfK Bremen, through which the money will be distributed to the music students.

The foundation was established in 1972 by Ernst von Siemens, grandson of the company founder Werner von Siemens, and began its work in early 1973. Since then, the foundation has awarded the Ernst von Siemens Music Prize, endowed with 250,000 euros, every year. In addition, the foundation annually supports contemporary music projects worldwide with 3.6 million euros and awards multi-year grants to music festivals. The foundation also supports projects for children and young people as well as scientific publications and awards three sponsorship prizes each year to promising composers.
