Natural Horn
With the degree programme Natural Horn, the Department of Early Music is dedicated to an instrument that assumes an extraordinary role in the history of music. The course aims to provide both advanced technical skills and a deep understanding of the Baroque and classical repertoire in a comprehensive education at the highest level.
A special feature is the focus on historically informed performance: it is not just about playing the natural horn, but also doing so with sensitivity and an understanding of the historical, cultural and musical context in which the works were composed. Studying original sources and musicological research develop the ability to interpret the repertoire in an authentic and captivating manner.
In addition to individual lessons, master classes, ensemble lessons and research projects enable a comprehensive academic experience.
