Singing (Early Music)
The degree programme Major in Singing Early Music includes both individual artistic and ensemble lessons in small groups. In the context of historically informed performance practice, flexibility is learned in all musical styles from the Renaissance to late Romanticism through the reflective use of the voice. Solo singing (Baroque opera and concert), ensemble singing and song creation are equally at the centre of the training. A well-founded background knowledge (treatises, knowledge of keys, ornamentation, affect and figure theory, etc.) enables stylistic confidence and promotes independent artistic design and interpretation skills. A degree in Singing Early Music makes for an ideal basis for freelance singers.
