Jazz (B.M., KA)
The degree programme Bachelor of Music in Jazz comprehensively trains students at the highest level in all areas of the genre. The HfK offers a wide range of courses and activities to train students in jazz standards, original compositions and improvisation. The offering includes courses in music theory, ear training and composition, giving students a comprehensive understanding of the music they interpret. There is also the opportunity to perform live in ensembles and combos in the in-house jazz club, in particular to optimise their skills in performing with others.
This course provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the various jazz styles and the techniques associated with them. It covers basic techniques as well as the practice of ensemble playing and solo improvisation. Students receive individual support and their artistic profile development is supported.
Lecturers
The lecturers in the field of music are renowned musicians who perform in concert halls around the world. A close and co-operative exchange between students and teachers is of central importance in the field of music.
